First time in NY? You must visit Prince st. in Soho for shopping :) you'll love it
Try any of the restaurants in Chinatown, almost all of them are good
If you like japanese food i recommend-
Ippudo (near St Marks) & Rockmeisha (West village) for ramen
Sushi Gari (upper east side) and Blue Ribbon (Soho) for high end sushi
Or any of the restaurants on St. Marks place for a cheaper option.
For good American food try BLT Steak
